Now (poem)

I let you touch me when you did
Because you took me by surprise
I had no defences to hide behind
My walls of stone had crumpled
I was not out looking
For an emotional connection
I had set out seeking
Spiritual annihilation
But then there you were
With your own broken walls
And through the breaches
We flowed
We didn't stop to think
We didn't have time to ponder
We just rode the wave
Until it reached the shore
Where we awoke from our dream
As the waves fell back
Leaving us stranded on the beach
